is uninhibited by conventions

Poetry and essay are not selfsame
Poetry cannot be
forwarded by a single declarative statement
that lacks association,
the color the touch the smell the sound, the intuition
of a dialogue that is composed for a different purpose
than to be heard, to be understood
when the conventions are stripped
bare, what remains?
